Shri Hans Tirath

After Shri Hans Ji Maharaj passed away, Shri Mata Ji commissioned the construction of a shrine, built entirely of white marble, on the site of his cremation. Since Shri Mata Ji's passing in 1991, this has been incorporated into a marvellous temple constructed beside the Ganges, housing both their statues. This unique structure is crowned with nine pyramid-shaped domes. The interior of the temple is decorated with domes of different sizes depicting the chakras on one side of the temple and past Masters and divine Incarnations on the other. The statues sit in the center of the shrine beneath the highest dome.

The intricately patterned floors are inlaid with white, green, yellow and red marble designs. The walls also have a marble veneer with flowery borders and panels up to window height. The temple has wide passages on all four sides to give added space and clear views of the statues. The centers of the Satsang Hall, Shri Hans Tirath and bathing ghat are in perfect alignment.

The temple emanates an aura of peace and coolness, which is very conducive to meditation. Arti prayers are sung here morning and evening and on festive days.

Natural Medicines

Established in 1979, the fully licensed Hans Ayurved Bhavan produces a huge range (more than 150) of natural medicines and tonics from pure herbal ingredients according to ancient Vedic recipes. This pharmacy, like all ashram facilities, is staffed entirely by ashram residents. Fully qualified ayurvedic physicians supervise all stages of the manufacturing process. These medicines are guaranteed pure, unadulterated and chemical-free. They are moderately priced and are conveniently packed in unbreakable containers. The Ayurved Bhavan also maintains a free clinic, which is open to the public on weekdays.

Bathing in the Ganges (Ghat)

The Ganges flows very swiftly at Hardwar, so for the safety of those wishing to bathe in the river, Shri Mata Ji had a 220 ft-long protected bathing area, called a ghat, constructed in late 1978. It consists of a set of steps leading right into the water, surrounded by protective railings. It has since been expanded to at least double its original length. It is a very pleasant place for meditation at dusk and dawn. As Hardwar is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas, the river’s water is icy cold and very refreshing. Sunrise over the Himalayas is always a majestic sight.

Panch Pallav

Behind the ghat is a garden containing the 'Panch Pallav' grove, which is also a very peaceful spot for meditation. The Panch Pallav is a combination of five type of trees naturally growing together as one. This a very rare phenomenon and has been referred to in the Ramayana as being very auspicious.

Shri Hans Ji Maharaj

Shri Hans Ji Maharaj, from the Himalayan district of Uttarakhand, was an enlightened master in the tradition of the divine masters such as Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Shri Shankaracharya, Guru Nanak, Jesus Christ, Lord Buddha and Shri Ramakrishna, who came into the world to free people from blind faith, ignorance, superstition and misery by means of the practical technique of Spiritual Knowledge which leads to the direct realization of the self.

Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj

The noble work of Shri Hans Ji Maharaj is being carried on by his eldest son, Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj, who was born in Kankhal (Haridwar) on Sept 21, 1951. His innate leadership and organising abilities, as well as his inherent spirituality, started manifesting themselves even in his childhood, so that, when the time came, he dedicated himself to his father's work with characteristic zeal and efficiency. Totally devoted to his own Master, and never veering from the high ideals and moral integrity of his teachings, Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj demonstrated the path of service and sacrifice in his own life.
